Rocky Mountain Sunscreen Info
Rocky Mountain Sunscreen is broad spectrum UVA/UVB, greaseless, very water resistant, PABA and fragrance free, and hypoallergenic. Fortified with
aloe and vitamins A, D, and E the product is formulated as a daily moisturizer - safe for daily use on the face and under
women's make-up.
These traits make Rocky Mountain Sunscreen safe and pleasant to use as a daily
moisturizer even on the face. In fact, protecting the face daily from the sun's
ultraviolet rays is imperative. The face is one of the only parts of the body
that is exposed every single time you are outdoors. As a result, the face is the
most common area for skin cancer.
Most sunscreens are film-based. As such, they don't bond properly with the skin and need to be reapplied more often. They
also tend to be greasy and stain clothing and furniture. Rocky Mountain Sunscreen features a bonding based formula, which
allows skin to breathe and perspire. As a result, the body is able to keep naturally cool by sweating, which is vital in all
outdoor activities. Bonding base sunscreens work great in the water, offering superior protection while swimming or sweating
profusely.

Formula
There are 3 different types of sunscreen formulas: Wax-Based, Film-Based, and Bonding-Based. The "base", or lotion in
which the UV protectants are mixed, are very important because it will ultimately determine how well the sunscreen will
work.
- Bonding-Based - Bonding-based formulas,
like Rocky Mountain Sunscreen, work the best for people who actually do something
while they are in the sun, because they enable the UV absorbers to interlock
with the skin. RMS formulas tightly interlock with the upper layer of your
skin, won't clog your pores, and allows your skin to breathe and perspire.
This helps keep your body cool naturally, which is vital in all outdoor activities.
Bonding-based formulas do not sweat off, work great in the water because they
don't wash off, and don't tend to rub off on clothing or towels.
- Wax-Based - These formulas completely coat the skin, clogging your pores and preventing your skin from sweating or
"breathing". This can result in an increase in the core body temperature, especially during out door activities.
Wax-based lotions tend to be thick and sticky. On hot days (85+ degrees Fahrenheit), they can actually melt, compromising the
UV protection you receive.
- Film-Based - Most sunscreens are film-based. These lotions suspend the UV absorbers on the skin's surface instead of
"bonding" to the skin. They are more easily washed off while swimming or sweating, and can rub off on towels or
clothes, making it necessary to re-apply them very frequently to maintain UV protection. Film-based lotions tend to be greasy
and can stain clothing and equipment.

sunscreen in the gallon jug about 4 years ago. I am outside here in
Florida, playing tennis and kayaking year round. It was worth every
penny...I use it everyday April through November and as needed the rest

Scout Ranch for Adult leader training and bought the kiwi lip balm.
